Tips for saving gas
Even if you’re not ready to switch to a hybrid vehicle , there are a few things you can do to reduce your fuel consumption. Although most of us are familiar with the usual list of tips for saving fuel, such as slowing down, there are some gas saving tips you might not be familiar with. According to U.S. News and World Report, here are a few less obvious hints to help you increase gas mileage.
Take care of that “Check Engine” light: Because most check engine lights come on due to malfunctioning air sensors, taking care of this problem alone might save you up to 40% on your fuel consumption and seriously boost your gas mileage.
Get rid of your roof rack: Roof racks create drag, causing you to use more fuel. If you want to save money on gas, take your roof rack off until you need it.
Don’t be late for oil changes: Dirty oil can cause your car to use 1% more fuel. Remember to make those appointments on time if you want to increase your gas mileage.
